OGT Energy is geared to serve as an active participant in strengthening transformation within the sector’s manufacturing and installation fronts.

Since its inception, South Africa’s renewable energy landscape sparked a R200 billion in foreign direct investment through 112 Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects linked to four bid-windows. However, there have been challenges in relation to the meaningful participation of black manufacturers.

At OGT Energy, we are solution oriented. We are well positioned as a new entrant seeking to bolster and lead in producing much needed technical expertise and local content through partnerships whenever possible.

We believe that meaningful change in ownership patterns and in unlocking local employment are set to crystalize themselves through the establishment of manufacturing plants.

With OGT Energy being based in Kathu, a town in the South Africa’s Northern Cape Province which is the bedrock of the country’s green energy footprint with over half of the IPP projects, our landscape which is dotted.

Local Content

We are focused on being a materials sourcing hub – a beacon of local content that also prides itself with a skills-set boosted by local artisans. Also, with a shift in policy framework, we are determined to advance the cause of emerging renewable energy entrepreneurs in claiming their stake.

On the Economy

Enhancing the local economy is steadfastly what we committed to and what is inextricably linked to the province’s future ability in generating its own stake towards the Gross Domestic Production (GDP) contribution from renewables.

Intra-Africa Trade

We geared towards being the change in the renewables energy landscape in being an African company on a quest of garnering an African footprint and earnestly in sub-Saharan Africa.
